Up Date on Moon Kissed

Moon Kissed hung at the Germantown Performing Arts Center with Artists Link for the month of November and then St. Georgias with Memphis/Germantown Arts League in December.

I am excited to say I placed second in the show which was very unexpected and so exciting!  I also earned my Star statice with MGAL.

Donating a mixed media piece to the ART OF CARING which is a fund raiser for grief counseling for children, teens and adults. The Art Of Caring will be held this year at the FedEx Center at Shelby Farms Park February 20, 2025.  Tickets are $50.00.  They will have Rio Carnival-inspired food, drink and music as you view the gallery-quality artwork and mingle with the artists.  There's also complimentary valet parking.  On line auction begins Feb. 13 at noon and closed Feb. 20 at 8pm

The piece I am donating is abstract and 24x48 Mixed Media.

MOON KISSED

Hanging at the Germantown Performing Arts  in Germantown, Tennessee for the month of November.

I literally was touching up.....(as usual) not quite done before I delivered it...which means I see several areas I need to work on.  People who know me know that "I am never done"!

This painting was inspired by a painting by Carroll Cloar that hangs in the Little Rock Museum of Art.  The painting by Carrol Cloar was of two young girls dancing in an open field under an evening sky lit by the moon.  I so loved the colors and wanted to do something similar.

Not happy with the moon so hope to work on that....

I just found out it was juried in a local show with Memphis Germantown Arts League that will hang at St. Georges church for the month of December.

Catching Up on unposted paintings!

This year in August 2024 I won First Place with "Petals and Spheres" which hung at the Memphis Botanical Gardens.  The painting was from a glass of flowers in a small glass that had marbles on the bottom of the glass.  I was taken by the reflections of the marbles in the water and the colors.  It was an honor to win First Place since there were so many amazing talented pieces in the show.

Earlier I did the painting of the little Mexican Boy which was donated for "Good Grief" counseling through Baptist hospitals.  The photo was taken in the jungles of Mexico during a small villages celebration of Cinco de Mayo.  I titled it "Daddy's little Patriot".

The painting of the girl...nature goddess...has been constantly evolving since I've never done with it.  I had nothing to look at so just kept adding and changing things....Anyone that knows me knows that "I am never done!".

Lastly a painting which is still in progress...close to being done but still to done....as there are always new ideas I am working on.

I'm having trouble composing the composition of these photos..so please excuse how they are placed..😱
